CEO, Allianz Holdings

Colm joined Allianz in December 2021, with 20 years’ of experience across the insurance sector. With his deep understanding of the UK Property and Casualty (P&C) market.  He previously held senior leadership at JP Morgan Chase, Zurich and Aviva, where he served as CFO and CEO.

Commercial Managing Director, UK

Nadia has been with Allianz Group since May 2022 when she joined as Regional Managing Director for London & Nordics with AGCS. Prior to AGCS she was most recently Head of Major Accounts at Chubb Europe and before that she was country president for Chubb Europe in France for seven years. 

Chief Risk Officer 

John was appointed to the role of Chief Risk Officer in 2020. Prior to this, John was appointed as Director of Underwriting and Technical, Personal Lines in 2017. John joined Allianz in 2015 having previously worked in consultancy roles in the non-life insurance industry.

Chief HR Officer

Julie joined Allianz Group in 2004 and has worked for Allianz SE, AGCS, Allianz Reinsurance and Allianz Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Allianz she worked for Cathay Pacific and Lufthansa. She was appointed Chief HR Officer in July 2020.

Chief Operations Officer

Ashish joined Allianz as Director – Application Development & Maintenance in 2013 thereafter held the role of CEO – Allianz Technology India. Before joining Allianz UK as the COO in 2022, Ashish held the responsibility of Heading Global Delivery Network which encompassed locations like India, Thailand & Spain, leading 5200+ professionals.

Chief Financial Officer

Ulf Lange was appointed CFO and a member of the Board in September 2016. This position continues his longstanding career with the Allianz Group, with roles including Head of Legal, Compliance and HR for the Allianz operations in CEEMA and CFO of Allianz Ayudhya, Allianz's life insurance entity in Thailand. In 2014 he was appointed Head of the CEO Office under Michael Diekmann and then Oliver Bäte.

Managing Director, Specialty

Kieran was appointed to the role of Managing Director, Specialty in 2021. Prior to this, he was Chief Risk Officer, LV= General Insurance after joining Allianz in 2018. He has previously held senior finance, risk and operational roles within the non-life insurance industry.

Personal Managing Director

As Personal Managing Director for Allianz in the UK, Serge is responsible for the performance, strategy, culture and development of the Allianz personal lines business. Prior to taking on this role in the UK, Serge was Group Strategy, Marketing, Distribution Officer for the Allianz Group, based in Munich.

Chief Compliance & Corporate Affairs Officer

Alison is responsible for setting a clear strategy for our business in terms of compliance and conduct relating to customer, clients, reputation, assets and the interests of our stakeholders, as well as corporate and regulatory affairs. Alison was previously Group Compliance and Financial Crime Risk Director at Aviva and has also worked at RSA, BGL and Direct Line Group.

Chief Legal Officer &
Company Secretary

Christopher is responsible for advising on legal, regulatory and governance issues, overseeing the legal and company secretariat functions across the Allianz Holdings group. Christopher previously worked with the international financial services group Euroclear since 2007 and has headed their UK legal team since 2013. Prior to this he worked with Lloyd’s of London.

Chief Audit Officer

Matt provides monitoring and evaluation of our activities, controls and processes.

Chief Actuary

Laurence ensures we have adequate financial reserves and appropriate premium rates are being charged. He previously spent 10 years at Direct Line as director of financial risk. Prior to that, he held various roles at Zurich Insurance UK including chief actuary.

Chairman of the board

Paul has had a distinguished career in insurance. He is a Chartered Accountant who spent 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and 17 years at AXA where he held a number of senior roles including Group CEO, AXA UK and Group CEO, AXA Global Life, Savings and Health.

Non-executive Director

Andrew joined Allianz in 1999 as General Manager of its Broker division.  Served as company’s Chief Executive from 2003 to 2013. Served as President & CEO of Fireman’s Fund, Allianz’s US property and casualty insurer, until the end of 2014. Returned to the Board of Holdings PLC in 2015.

Non-executive Director

Denise joined the Board of Allianz Insurance in 2018, and is Chair of the Risk Committee. Denise is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of England and Wales, and a former partner at E&Y. She has over 30 years’ experience working with companies in the financial services sector, particularly insurance. Denise also sits on the supervisory board of Deloitte Netherlands, where she chairs the Audit & Finance Committee, as well as chairing the Audit & Risk Committee at the University of Greenwich.

As of Janurary 2021, Chris Townsend is a Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, overseeing the Group’s Global Insurance Lines, Reinsurance, Anglo Markets, Middle East and Africa and the Ibero LatAm region. 

A highly experienced financial services executive across both the Life and P&C Insurance sectors who has lived and worked across four continents over the past 30 years including at AIG and MetLife.

Non-Executive Director

Dr Teresa Robson-Capps has had an impressive executive career spanning several industries: Retail, Mobile Telecoms, Professional Services, Insurance and Banking. 

The last 11 years Teresa has developed her Independent Non Executive Career on a variety of boards as Chair, SID, and Non-Executive on various committees.

Non-Executive Director

Jose was appointed to the Allianz (UK) boards in June 2022.   Before this Jose was Chief Risk Officer for Direct Line Group from March 2012 to February 2022. He was Global Chief Risk Officer from June 2009 for HSBC Holdings. From 2001 to 2009 he held a number of Chief Actuary roles in the UK and internationally for Zurich Financial Services.

Non-Executive Director

Oliver joined the Allianz (UK) Board in November 2023 as a Non-Executive Director. He was previously Founding Chief Financial Officer of McGill and Partners and before that held Chief Financial Officer roles at Howden, London Clearing House and Novae. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair for Close Brothers Group plc and prior to that of Rathbone Brothers Group plc.
