We insure many things from Bentleys to billion pound property developments to pet cats, ponies and pianos. In fact, globally more than 83 million customers in more than 70 countries rely on our expertise, enthusiasm and financial strengths to be their trusted partner. And having demonstrated a track record of financial success, we achieved total revenues of €110.8 billion, and profits of €10.1 billion in 2013 of which £170.5 million profit were achieved in our UK business. Our UK business is split into two trading divisions: Retail and Commercial supported by Claims, IT, Finance, Actuarial & Planning and Human Resources. About 5,600 employees work for our UK insurance business, and a total of about 148,000 employees work for Allianz across different business entities around the globe.
So yes, we’re big. But not too big for our boots. Big enough to give you plenty of opportunities, plenty of experience and plenty of responsibility. But not too big to know your name and to genuinely care about your career. Not too big to give you exposure to senior managers and a training and development plan that’s tailored to your individual needs.
Insurance is all about preparing you for the future, for what’s ahead – and so are our graduate schemes. They’re about giving you the skills and experience you need to drive our success while you build a rewarding, stimulating career. So, we give you more responsibility, more support and more challenges. More time and freedom to get involved in interesting work. And don’t take our word for it either: JobCrowd.com asks graduates from companies across the UK what working on their scheme is really like. And guess who was voted on place 12 within their Top 100 of best graduate companies to work for and came 2nd for the best Accountancy & Insurance companies? Also in the last five years, 80% of our graduates have stayed with us, with many of them progressing into senior roles in the business.
So if you’re looking for a graduate scheme that offers more challenges, more prospects and a bright future, look no further.
We give you more, it’s that simple. In our world-class benefits package, we don’t just focus on the standard offer of rewards and benefits; we give you those added really-nice-to-have extras too.
So, on top of your competitive salary, performance-related annual bonus, options for private medical and dental insurance, you can flex other benefits like discounted gym membership, extra holiday and really useful discounts for shops, events and entertainment. You may also be lucky to get some free tickets to the Rugby!
We’ll also give you preferential rates for personal insurance on our motor, home and pet insurance products. On completion of a professional qualification you will also receive a cash reward.
Your personal development is our number one priority. And what’s different about our graduate scheme is that we don’t just want you to spend a couple of static years with us, we want to see you grow, take on new responsibilities and develop a fulfilling career. We want to see you achieve your aspirations, to excel and lead our business forward.
Where do you see yourself going? What would you really like to get stuck into? You lead the way. Your individual PDP (Personal Development Plan) will give you the structure you need to reach your career goals and you’ll be supported, personally and professionally, by mentors and managers at every step of the way. In addition to your unrivalled on-the-job learning, whichever graduate scheme you choose, you’ll achieve a professional qualification – from your CIMA or ACCA in Finance, to your Advanced Diploma with the Chartered Insurance Institute. We’ll give you paid study days. We’ll bring in external tutors where necessary. We’ll pay for all your materials. Basically, we’ll do everything we can to help you.
And for us, there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to your training. We give you more opportunities to expand your skill-set and enhance your knowledge. This could mean attending a course at our dedicated training suite in Surrey, participating in a technical programme through our Underwriting Academy, Excellence in Claims or Excellence in Sales or taking one of our various behavioural skills courses (things like ‘Communicating and Presenting Effectively’).
Looking after local communities
We’re a large organisation, yes. But our size and international reach gives us the opportunity to make a really positive contribution to local communities. Like we’ve said all along, it’s those little extras that are all-important to us. That’s why we give you 10 hours volunteering leave every year in addition to events to raise vital funds for our partner charities where we often match the amount you raise.
We have raised over £1.6 million for UK charities through Allianz employees and company contributions. And right now, we’re busy developing insurance solutions that mitigate the risks of climate change and manage their impact. In fact, we’re doing more than just our bit; we are promoting our car sharing scheme and working on how to improve our impact on the environment. Lots of exciting things for you to get involved in.
