Making a legal expenses claim

Please read  what we'll need ↓ before you start making your claim to make the process as quick and easy as possible.
Your client must call our legal advice line before taking any action that could jeopardise their legal position.
Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our legal advice line will log their call and a legal advisor will aim to call you back within 1 hour. If the issue leads to a potential claim, they’ll need to follow the claims process.
We'll do our best to put things right.

So that we can get your claim moving quickly, please provide us with the following information when reporting a claim:

  • Main policy number, shown in the policy schedule
  • Their address and telephone number
  • Brief summary of the problem.

This is the process if a client wants to make a claim:
  • The client should call our legal advice line on 0370 243 4340 to notify the claim.
  • If necessary, a claim form will be sent.
  • Once the claim form is completed and returned, we may ask for additional documents or information.
  • They’ll have a dedicated claims handler throughout the process.
  • Once we have the information, we’ll confirm if the claim is covered within 48 hours.

We'll confirm your policy cover and then, depending on the situation, the following may happen:
We’ll appoint an independent firm of solicitors.
The appointed legal representative will review their case, keeping them informed throughout the process.
They may reach a resolution or may need to go to court – supported by a firm of solicitors.
