The UK is now part of the ‘Green Card Free Circulation’ area, so you don’t need to carry a Green Card when driving within EU countries or those that follow EU Directives.

So, Green Cards won’t be issued as part of this policy.

You can find proof of your No Claim Discount on page 6 of your renewal invite.

If you cancel mid-term, your NCD will be shared with you on your cancellation document.

Your proof of NCD will contain:

  • The vehicle attached to the discount.
  • The number of years the NCD was protected.
  • The policy end/cancellation date.
With Allianz, you don’t need to send us proof of your No Claim Discount. We use some clever databases and systems to check the number of years your No Claim Discount has been active for. Simple, right?

To talk about an open claim, please give us a call and we’ll take it from there. Calls will be recorded. For Text Phone, first dial 18001.

Once you’re comfortable, you’ll need to:

  • Take note of the time, date and location.
  • Make a record of what happened.
  • Get names and contact details of the other driver(s) and any witnesses.
  • Write down the licence plates of the other cars involved.
  • Take pictures of any damage.
  • Note down any injuries.

You’ll need to call the police if:

  • The other driver(s) left the scene without providing their details.
  • You suspect the other driver(s) may have caused intentional damage.
  • You think the other driver(s) could be uninsured.
  • You have reason to believe the other driver(s) is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Then, give our claims team a call at any time.

Allianz Car Insurance is designed so you can make changes to your cover whenever you need to, but there are some things you can’t change.

Once the start date of your policy has been set, you won’t be able to change it. This is because one of the factors affecting your price, is the date you need the policy to start.

We know things can change though, so if your start date no longer works for you, the best thing to do is cancel your policy and take out a new one. You can do this in your online account.

If your cover has already started, you may be subject to a cancellation fee payment.

Remember, if you change your start date, your price may change too.

With Allianz Car Insurance, you can make changes to your cover requirements at any time, but there are some things you can’t change - like your previous driving history.

This is because one of the factors affecting your price, is your claims and conviction history, so changing this would change your quote.

We understand that things change though, so the best thing to do is to cancel your policy and take out a new one with your up to date driving history details.

The good news is it’s nice and easy. Just log in to your Allianz account and select 'Cancel my policy'.

You can make changes online when you log in to your Allianz account.

If you’d like to make changes with effect from the renewal date, then please select the 'renewal, make changes' tile and you can make your changes there. Make sure you save any changes you make.

If you need to make changes to your policy before the renewal date, please select the option for the change you wish to make and go from there.

To check if your policy is set to renew automatically, please log in to your Allianz account:

1. Select ‘Account details’

2. Select ‘edit renewal preferences’

3. Check which option is selected

You can change this option at any time up until your renewal date.

If you haven’t opted to renew automatically, just log in to your Allianz account and click the ‘renew now’ button to pay for your new policy manually.

Then, on your renewal date, the payment will be debited from your account and we’ll send you your documents.

If you’d like to change your payment method, select 'Renewal, Make changes’ when you’re in your account and update your payment preference there.

If you’ve opted to renew automatically, then you’re all set and you don’t need to do anything. Your policy will renew and the payment will be debited on the renewal date, using the same payment method and date as the previous year.

If you’d like to change the payment method, just log in to your account, select 'Renewal, Make changes’ and update your payment preferences there.
