Year in industry placements
Operations - Year in industry placement
This year placement offers you the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders, as well as understand how an insurance business operates from within. This, coupled with amazing support from your Line Manager and the rest of the team, will give you invaluable insight into what it takes to be part of a large UK business; you’ll be part of something big from day one. This year-long internship in Operations offers an insight into the diverse and fast-paced roles that interact with every other area of the business, and will set you up with knowledge and skills for your final year at University and future career after graduation.
Your year with us would start at the end of June/start of July, based in our head office in Guildford.
What we look for:
- Studying an honours degree of any discipline
- On target for a 2:1 level or above
- Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
Actuarial - Year in industry placement
Our Actuarial placement runs over 12 months and will help you to develop your skills, gain insightful practical experience and make more informed decisions about your future career.
The placement will involve a mix of project work, operational tasks and improving processes. Past interns have been given many opportunities, responsibilities and ownership for a wide range of work which has allowed them to develop and grow, whilst making a significant contribution to Allianz. They have been involved in areas such as conducting statistical reviews of claims made by our customers, annual business planning and case pricing.
This could be based in Guildford or London.
What we look for:
- On course for a 2:1 or above in a numerate or business related degree
- A level Maths at grade A or above (or equivalent)
- Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
Internships
Operations - Internship
This internship offers you the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders, as well as understand how an insurance business operates from within. - Penultimate or final year of studies in honours degree of any discipline
- On target for a 2:1 level or above
- Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
Actuarial - Internship
The internship will involve a mix of project work, operational tasks and improving processes. Past interns have been involved in areas such as conducting statistical reviews of claims made by our customers, annual business planning and running sensitivity tests for the capital model.
This could be based in Guildford or London.
What we look for:
- On course for a 2:1 or above in a numerate or business related degree
- A level Maths at grade A or above (or equivalent)
- Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
- You will be in your penultimate year of study. If you are going on to do a Masters then please make this clear in your application.
Finance - Internship
As a Finance Summer Intern you’ll work in a dynamic and friendly team spread across three key areas: Core Accounting (Accounts Payable, Cashiers or Management Accounts), Financial Accounting (within a Business Division) and other Accounting (Internal Audit, Tax or Group Accounts) at our head office in Guildford.
You’ll spend 9 weeks with us, working on exciting challenges and gaining hands-on, hard-to-beat experience from day one. As well as getting stuck into a stimulating range of corporate and trading accounts, you’ll get a chance to apply your technical know-how to real business problems.
What we look for:
- On course for a 2:1 or above in any degree (numerical preferred)
- Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
Claims data - Internship
What we look for:
- Penultimate or final year of honour degree in a numerate, scientific or computing subject (e.g. Computer Science, Business analytics, Data Science, Maths, Economics, Physics …)
- On target for a 2:1 level or above
- Valid work permit for permanent work in the UK without restrictions after graduation
