Our two year underwriting scheme is designed to give you all the skills and technical know-how you need to become a successful underwriter and technical specialist of the future.
We want you to get the opportunity to develop innovative insurance solutions that fully meet the needs of our customers in this ever changing world.
We have a large and varied customer base in the UK, so you could find yourself arranging insurance policies for a hotel in London, a motor fleet in the Midlands or a construction project in Scotland. You’ll gain a huge breadth of experience and will specialise in either corporate business or small and medium enterprises (SME).
Underwriting is at the heart of any insurance company, so developing your skills in this core area opens the door to a whole range of opportunities.
Fancy getting a taste of working for a leading insurer and experiencing what our underwriters do on a daily basis? Our underwriting summer internships are a brilliant chance to get some practical experience and help you make more informed decisions about your future career.
As one of our underwriting summer interns you’ll be working at the very heart of our business - where we evaluate risks so we can choose if, how and at what premium we’ll insure. This internship offers you the opportunity to work closely with underwriters at the very top of their specialist field. You’ll quickly develop an understanding of how to approach the evaluation of risks, as well as how to foster strong relationships with our broker clients. You’ll have the opportunity to develop a range of technical, commercial and leadership skills that are vital to your development and the business.
To top it all off, we’ll pay you a competitive salary and, subject to a successful performance review, you may have the chance to fast track your application for one of our graduate schemes.
Allianz has a strong reputation for supporting students in their studies.
You’ll be assigned dedicated study days and the funding you need to successfully complete the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII).
In addition to your CII qualification you’ll also complete Allianz’s market-leading Excellence in Technical programme.
