The Allianz Management Trainee graduate scheme has been in place at Allianz for a number of years; Its purpose is to create a pool of talent with valuable experience spanning multiple divisions in the company, who we hope will become our leaders of the future.

The scheme spans 27 months with four placements. Successful candidates will undertake three 6 month placements in Claims, Operations and Sales/Marketing, and one 9 month placement in Commercial Underwriting.

About the scheme

During the scheme you will complete the following placements:


(6 months)

With millions of policies sold every year, a penny saved per policy can make a significant difference, and that's why our Operations division is so crucial.

This rotation typically has a more project-based focus, and often provides graduates with the opportunity to interact with other parts of the business.


(6 months)

Claims are our largest expense, so it’s vital that we, as a company, relentlessly drive innovation and improvement of our claims function.

Graduates are typically based in a head office role, offering work that delivers tangible results to the business.


(6 months)

In this placement, spent in commercial or personal lines, you could be an account executive for one of corporate partners, such as BMW, Co-op and Sainsburys, or you could sit with one of our marketing teams working to develop our websites, and manage relationships with clients, such as Audi, who sell our insurance to their customers across the UK.

Commercial Underwriting

(9 months)

As an underwriting-led business, we pride ourselves on technical excellence in the marketplace.

You’ll learn to underwrite at least one of our commercial products, and gain exposure to the world of underwriters, business developers, brokers, delegated authorities and much more.

Key facts

Salary: You will receive a competitive starting salary, reviewed every six months.

Location: Varied - you will need to be flexible and may need to relocate, potentially four times. It's likely that at least six months will be spent at our head office in Guildford.

Holiday: You get access to an extensive flexible benefits scheme which includes 22 days holiday every year

Who should apply?

You need to have achieved or on target for an upper second class or above degree in any subject.

A valid work permit for permanent work in the UK is also required as well as flexibility around our UK locations.
