New Business Manager Steven Burrell has worked at Allianz for over four years. The focus of his role is the acquisition of new business through pro-active prospecting. On a day to day basis this involves managing tenders, developing knowledge of prospects and competitors, campaign management and developing opportunities for the future.

Before joining Schemes, Steven spent 13 years working for Cornhill Life undertaking a variety of roles before moving into sales. He has worked extensively with insurance intermediaries in the mortgage and pensions sectors and has experience of managing a range of regulatory issues.

With a strong commitment to the business and a determination to be successful in everything that he does, Steven says he enjoys the challenge of working in an environment where there is always something new to learn and believes it is the people at Schemes that make a difference in a competitive market place.

Phil joined as New Business Manager. Phil is the point of contact for Financial Services Corporate Partner enquiries. Having worked in these sectors for the last 10 years, Phil has a wide experience in developing corporate partnerships, producing competitive and valued products and creating new and innovative solutions to our clients.

Phil has previously worked for Cardif Pinnacle and Sterling Insurance Group. At Cardif Pinnacle he worked for over 8 years in Consumer, Mortgage and Motor Lending divisions. In his last role at Sterling Insurance he was responsible for new business for all creditor, life and personnel accident schemes. This equated to over £100m GWP per annum and provided incremental growth to the company.

Simon joined Allianz in October 2009 as Partnership Development Manager to spearhead the development of Allianz Corporate Partners’ Motor sector strategy. Simon will be focusing on developing long term relationships with all major motor manufacturers as well as driving growth with existing clients.

Simon brings a wealth of motor sector experience and insight to his role, with a business development and motor finance background. Before joining Allianz, Simon spent ten years working for GE Money Auto Finance, leading its business development strategy

Susie has worked in the insurance/broking industry for over 10 years and joined Allianz as an Account Manager with responsibility for the relationship management of a range of client’s and the development of their schemes.

Prior to her move Susie worked for BDML Insurance Solutions and Aon Ltd, involved in managing and developing insurance solutions for tenants and leaseholders in the social housing sector. She has had line management responsibility for a team of Account Managers. Susie has also dealt with the associated operational, budgetary and regulatory/compliance issues, together with project management, co-ordination and development of marketing activity to drive forward the required growth.

Strong negotiation and account management skills were imperative as a key criteria was full responsibility for ensuring all client needs were met. In addition a major focus was on strict monthly reporting process to track development of new and existing schemes to ensure strong results and the smooth running of individual schemes.
