We adopted a new CSR Strategy in 2009. The strategy will ensure environmental and social issues are managed, delivering value for the company and continued benefit for society.
Our CSR Strategy supports the business mission and objectives - it will help us reduce costs, manage risks, capture opportunities, minimise negative impacts, attract and retain employees, and strengthen our brand and business overall.
Scope of the CSR Strategy
Our CSR strategy is split into three themes:
- managing the company’s environmental impact;
- addressing the risks and opportunities associated with climate change; and
- supporting the communities in which we operate.
Why these issues?
The strategy acknowledges our ambition to include CSR in all parts of our business, managing the risks and the opportunities it presents.
Our themes touch on a wide variety of commercial and operational areas and initiatives, from sustainable product development and supply chain management to customer service and diversity.
CSR is broad and means different things to different people and organisations. There are issues that may be considered within CSR that don’t appear in our strategy.
We will review the scope of our strategy and report regularly to stakeholders to remain focussed on the material issues for the business.
