A 24-hour claims service designed to provide a swift and helpful response to help you through making a motor claim.
After an Accident
In the Event of an Accident:
- Obtain the name, address and telephone number of:
- Any other driver(s) involved.
- Any other person(s) involved.
- Any witnesses.
- Also the other driver(s):
- Vehicle registration number.
- Name of his/her insurer.
- Motor insurance certificate number (if available).
- Phone claims START:

- When telephoning have the following information to hand:
- Policy number and Policyholder name.
- Vehicle registration.
Approved Repairers
- Once you have notified claims START of the accident, an Approved Repairer will contact you to arrange repairs of your vehicle.*
- Repair estimates are not required.
- Allianz Approved Repairer's are a nationwide network of professional vehicle repairers, providing high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Free courtesy car/vehicle.*
- Free collection and delivery of your vehicle.*
- Priority service and speedy repairs.
- Five year guarantee on all repairs.
- Free wash and vacuum
* For vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight.
Vehicle Recovery
- If your vehicle cannot be driven following an accident, we will arrange for it to be taken to the nearest Allianz Approved Repairer.
- If the damage is covered by your policy, the cost will be paid by us.
- If you are not insured for the damage (ie if your policy is Third Party or Theft), you will be responsible for the recovery charge.
- Regardless of your cover, we will make the arrangements for you and ensure all charges are kept to a minimum.
Windscreen Damage
- Phone claims START for all emergency glass repair or replacement, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the UK.
- If you have comprehensive cover at the time of the repair, simply produce your Certificate of Insurance and the cost will be billed to Allianz less any windscreen excess.
- No excess applies to windscreen repairs and therefore this option is strongly recommended. Repairs do however need to be done immediately as any minor damage can quickly deteriorate.
- If your policy does not cover windscreen damage, you will still receive a substantial discount off stock items at the time of replacement, but you will be required to pay the invoice at the time of fitting.
Third Party Damage
- Give the Third Party a copy of the claims START Contact Card which was supplied to you when you took out the policy renewal and ask them to phone claims START.
- We will assess their liability and if appropriate, arrange to have their car repaired.
- You must also phone claims START to report the accident.
