The Allianz Group
From Strength to Strength
Allianz, founded in 1890, has grown to be one of the world's leading financial services groups. It provides its 60 million clients in over 70 countries with a broad spectrum of products and services through an international network of some local group companies, helping them to command a strong financial presence in each of their home markets.
Allianz is guided by five long-term business principles:
- That it can best serve its shareholders by giving priority to its clients
- Its continued success is based on its reputation, its acceptance by society and its ability to attract and retain the best people
- Allianz fosters the entrepreneurial spirit of local Group companies, while providing Allianz's global leverage
- Allianz recognises that a sustainable performance requires primary focus on operational excellence and sustainable growth supported by profitable acquisitions
- Allianz aims to be among the top five competitors in the markets in which they choose to participate
Allianz’ strategy is based upon an initiative called 3+ one.
Our strategy focuses on the following
- Protecting and enhancing the capital base
- Substantially strengthening the operating profitability
- Reducing complexity
Achieving those aims enables us to deliver sustainable and profitable growth.
In 2005 Allianz achieved an operating profit of 7.7billion Euros.
Allianz is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. This expands the Group's flexibility for financing acquisitions and enables it to strengthen its market position with new investors and partnerships.
The Group currently has subsidiaries in over 70 countries. Allianz is a decentralised organisation, co-ordinating all activities on the basis of intensive, internal knowledge transfer among its global group of companies. The Group offers a dynamic working environment in the fields of insurance and financial services - as well as the security and benefits you would expect from one of the worlds largest enterprises.
