We will next be recruiting for our Actuarial scheme in 2008 for commencing in 2009

Actuaries are the quiet heroes of insurance companies, and the team at Allianz is no exception. As an actuarial trainee you’ll be part of a team which influences every business decision made, from how much to charge for a single policy to how much to pay for a potential acquisition. The Actuarial and Planning department is not just about crunching numbers - we provide the forecasting and calculations which other divisions rely on as they make the company’s profits.

Our industry-leading training scheme is built around the exams of the UK Actuarial Profession. We’ll back up your career development with a detailed personal development plan, ensuring that you gain all the skills you need to work for us. We’ll provide you with the study support you need to qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, including a Learning and Development programme which will enable you to gain work-based skills. We back this up with pragmatic hands-on training in the office from our team of experienced qualified actuaries, to prepare you for your future career as an actuary.

Your support network

We’ll put you in touch with the other graduates across all of the schemes we run so that you can share all of your experiences with your peers, and build a network with the other business managers of tomorrow.

From the start of your career you’ll be involved in projects which make a real difference to the business areas you support.

You’ll be given the opportunity to meet with those business areas, and both help them understand your work and learn from them about the way in which your work assists them.

You’ll also be part of a dedicated actuarial team, including other actuarial trainees, that’ll give you the chance to learn from them as you work both in and out of the office.

Your career progression

We think it’s vital that you progress throughout your career. We’ll reward you as you pass exams, and also for the quality of the work you undertake throughout the year. You’ll have the opportunity to work in different teams within the department, supporting different business areas. This will give you a unique perspective on the business, and equip you for your future role as a business advisor. As you gain more experience we’ll give you more responsibility for the decisions you make, allowing you more freedom to innovate and help the department meet its targets effectively.

Career development doesn’t stop when you qualify – we provide full support for the Continuing Professional Development requirements of the Actuarial Profession. Allianz has a number of talent management and leadership training activities and we’ll help you progress as far as you’ d like to go.
