"If I had to sum up the culture here, I'd have to say it's one of working hard and celebrating the success it brings. It's what I was attracted to from the start - I worked here as a summer and part-time student during my second and third years at university, so it seemed like a natural progression to join as a full-time employee once I'd graduated. We've a great group of people in the department which makes for
a sociable and friendly work environment - all important when you're here everyday.
I've been studying for my exams - there are lots to pass within the actuarial scheme, whilst also working within the Personal Lines team as an analyst. This has been very challenging and I don't think it would be possible to pass without the incredible support I've been given from the company - both in terms of time to revise and advice from my managers and mentors. I've now got the chance to change over to Commercial Lines, which will give me a wider experience base from which to grow - a challenge I'm very grateful for.
I've already had an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the business - I was involved in pricing exercises within the underwriting department where modelling decisions are put into the market to help win profitable business - this is something I'm really proud of. I think that desire to win and succeed in what you do - I'm a keen risk taker when it comes to investments and sport - is something common to all of the team at Allianz - we all love to do our best."
